About Starbrite Dancentre
We’re passionate about dance
Miss Emma started her dance training from the age of 4 and soon became hooked. She attended classes 5 days a week, competed in dance festivals and performed in local annual productions. She was then awarded theatre nominations in both Tap and Modern-Jazz before dancing professionally in cabarets and musical theatre.
Miss Emma’s true passion though is in teaching and choreography, and since beginning her dance teaching career in 1995, she has seen pupils achieve their true potential in productions such as Bugsy Malone, Fame, The Railway Children and the popular York Theatre Royal pantomime productions. Many pupils have been selected to attend junior associate schemes at some of the top dance colleges in the UK, and are now pursuing a career in the industry.
Principal and owner Miss Emma Bailey-Hague first opened Starbrite Dancentre in Poppleton in 2002, offering a range of classes in dance and theatre. One successful year later, Starbrite then opened its doors in Market Weighton.
Miss Emma’s ethos was to set up an exciting theatre school providing the very best learning opportunities for pupils young or old interested in performing, building up confidence and social skills for future development, but most importantly having lots of fun along their journey.
